Our previous Master student, Ms. Shuyao Lin, who is now a PhD student at the TU Wien, publishes her work in an article in Materials Today Physics, revealing that the thermal conductivities of antiferroelectric materials can be changed up to 50% by applying electric fields.

In September Wenling Ren has joined the TMM research group as a PhD student with the NHR Graduate School from the NHR Center for Computational Engineering Sciences (NHR4CES, https://www.nhr4ces.de). She has been awarded a scholarship for three years. She will be engaged in research on “Inverse Design of Functional Materials”.

Teng has successfully defended his PhD thesis
On 11 November 2021 Teng has successfully defended his PhD on “Multiscale Simulation of the Oxygen Redox Activity in Alkaline for Energy Applications“. It was nice to have Teng in our team for over three years and we are a little sad to see him leave to go back to China. We wish him all the best for his future and for his career in material science.
