Job Offers at the Institute of Materials Science

Would you like to do voluntary work during your studies or are you interested in a job as a student assistant? Gain your first working experiences at a university and connect with other students and staff at our institute.

Voluntary Work at our Institute

We regularly require students to participate in various committees of the faculty, e.g. the faculty council, the studies committee, appointment committees, the doctoral committee, the examinations board or the QSL committee for the allocation of funds in order to improve teaching. Here you will have the possibility to work in close contact with professors, research assistants, administrative and technical staff and other fellow students of the institute.

As a member of the student council or as an active member as student representative, you will develop and formulate the students' interests towards the institute and the university. During your committee work, you will not only learn about the mechanisms of university self-administration, but also gain exciting insights into strategic issues of the department and help decide on its future.

Student Assistant

How about a change of perspective? As a tutor for internships or lecture groups, you will guide students of a younger semester in conducting an experiment or working on assignments to accompany a lecture. In this way, you gain experience in teaching and deepen your knowledge in modules that you have already passed. You will be supported in your work by the staff of the respective subject area. You will receive a short-term employment contract, which will be remunerated according to TU Darmstadt's employment rules for student assistants.
