We develop tailored and resource-efficient materials enabling tomorrow's technologies. We educate people who contribute to finding solutions for the great challenges of our time. Together, we are actively shaping a sustainable future.
Materials Science focuses on a profound understanding of material properties, their origin and controllability. With this knowledge, materials scientists develop materials with improved or new properties. Such material innovations are the basis for future technologies, for example in energy, communication, mobility or medical technologies.
Our students are prepared for the challenges of developing modern materials in an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented manner. Materials Science as a study program intertwines natural sciences with an engineering perspective, opening up an immense spectrum of innovative topics for both, study and research.
