Topic: “Substoichiometric phases of hafnium oxide with semiconducting properties”

Congratulations to Dr. Nico Kaiser on his successful disputation on the memristor material hafnium oxide. In his work, Nico has demonstrated a new substoichiometric phase in oxygen-deficient hafnium oxide that is relevant to the functioning of memristors, novel computer memories for energy-efficient computing. If you want to know more, you can read his recent article in the renowned journal ACS Applied Electronic Materials. The external examiner was Prof'in. Dr. Roser Valentí from the Goethe University Frankfurt, with whose group Nico worked closely.

We thank Nico for his time in the ATFT group and welcome him as an alumnus. We wish Nico all the best for his future (and already miss his laugh)!
