Sabrina Sicolo receives Athene Prize for Good Teaching
Prize from the Carlo and Karin Giersch Foundation for achievements related to the Programming Lab

Dr. Sabrina Sicolo receives the Athene Prize for Good Teaching. The scientist from the research group Materials Modelling is thus honored for her teaching skills, her commitment, and her enthusiasm, particularly in conducting the course “Basic Programming Lab.”
With the introduction of the 2024 examination regulations, the practical course became a new component of the compulsory curriculum in the Bachelor's program in Materials Science. Sicolo is not only responsible for teaching the course, but also played a major role in its design.
Athene Award for Good Teaching
The Carlo and Karin Giersch Foundation at TU Darmstadt awards the annual “Athene Prize for Good Teaching” since 2010. The award recognizes outstanding best practice models in the field of teaching at TU Darmstadt.
The prize highlights the importance of academic teaching for the Technical University of Darmstadt and is intended to create incentives to engage in teaching in accordance with the principles of teaching.
The prizes can be awarded to individuals, groups of people, or organizational units of a subject or study area.
