This year's retreat took the MaWi professors to the Lufthansa Conference Center in Seeheim-Jugenheim at the end of October. The main topic was the Executive Board's “Focus” project and its implications for the Department 11.

The heads of the research groups also used the time to discuss current and joint research projects. The Dean of Studies, Prof. Donner, presented the results of the latest student survey, and topics such as improving teaching and internships and the selection process for master's students were discussed.

The retreat takes place annually and is used to coordinate teaching and research at the Institute of Materials Science.
