Next guest professor from NCKU (Taiwan) at TU Darmstadt

After the visit from Prof. Jen-Sue Chen (Materials Science) and Prof. Jih-Jen WU (Chemical Engineering) in January/February, in July/August Prof. Dr. Peter Chen (MaterialsScience) from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan stayed in our group as a guest professor.

The visits are funded by the Dragon Gate Partnership Programme from Taiwan, which serves to connect top laboratories of both countries. The visit is taking place as part of the TU Darmstadt International Joint Research Lab (IJRL) with the NCKU on memristor technology. The aim of the visit is to prepare another student exchange where a PhD student from NCKU joins TU Darmstadt for one year.

The subject of the collaboration is memristors, electronic memory components that can store and process information in an energy-efficient manner. Together with Prof. Chen we investigate novel perovskite materials that find also application in solar cells. The IJRL also includes a collaboration with Prof. Enrique Miranda from UAB Barcelona, a research fellow of TU Darmstadt.
