The European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems (EFECS) had a face-2-face meeting in Helsinki 19-21 November. STMicroelectronics organized a co-located workshop “ECSEL Pilot lines success stories and impact” in cooperation with the partners CEA-LETI, TU Darmstadt, SOITEC, Global Foundries, Lynred, and Robert Bosch GmbH on Tuesday 19 November. Dr. Yves Gigase, the Head of Programmes of the ECSEL Joint Undertaking, underlined in his talk the value of consecutive pilot line projects building trust between the European partners. Lambert Alff highlighted the value of university research for innovative technologies in Europe at the example of the projects PANACHE and WAKeMeUP.
