Preparation Methods

The aim of our work is to provide opportunities for new areas of application of high-performance ceramics and to offer other solutions in the field of hybrid techniques in addition to the classic processing methods.

  • SiC, Si3N4, amorphous ceramics, special composites
  • Development of novel techniques for preparation of ceramics
  • Cold and warm uniaxial pressing for compaction of ceramic, polymeric and metallic powders up to 350 °C, plus cold-isostatic pressing
  • Hot pressing process under inert gas
  • Pyrolyses with different horizontal and vertical furnaces up to ca. 2000 °C under inert gas atmosphere and up to 1600 °C under oxidative atmosphere or under NH3 atmosphere up to 1100 °C

Preparation of amorphous or rather glass-like and crystalline/partially crystalline inorganic-non-metallic materials for applications in wet-chemical finishing:

  • Corrosion protection
  • Hard material layers
  • Coating of C- or ceramic fibers
  • Powder coating
  • Infiltrations
  • Composite materials
