The High-Resolution Center for Electron Microscopy is a conjoint platform of the TU Darmstadt (Department of Material- and Geosciences, Department of Chemistry, Department of Biology), the Fraunhofer-Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability (LBF) and the State Materials Testing Institute Darmstadt (MPA). It is the central reference for material-scientific characterizations by means of electron microscopy for all members of the High-Resolution Center for Electron Microscopy, external research institutes and industrial customers. It offers structural and chemical characterization focused on anorganic solids by means of scanning and transmission electron microscopy. Our competences include conventional imaging, chemical characterization via energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS) and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), but also in-situ methods and state-of-the-art STEM on the atomic scale.
