The Electron Microscopy Center Darmstadt (EMC-DA) is a conjoint platform of the TU Darmstadt (Department of Material- and Geosciences, Department of Chemistry, Department of Biology), the Fraunhofer-Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability (LBF) and the State Materials Testing Institute Darmstadt (MPA). The EMC-DA is the central reference for material-scientific characterizations by means of electron microscopy for all members of the EMC-DA, external research institutes and industrial customers. The EMC-DA offers structural and chemical characterization focused on anorganic solids by means of scanning and transmission electron microscopy. Our competences include conventional imaging, chemical characterization via energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS) and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), but also in-situ methods and state-of-the-art STEM on the atomic scale.
