Robert Winkler receives Dean's Prize for Excellence in Research

Award for outstanding doctoral dissertation in Materials Science

2024/12/03

Robert Winkler has been awarded the Dean's Prize for Excellence in Research for the academic year 2023/24 during the Materials Science Graduation Ceremony on November 29, 2024. The award recognizes his outstanding doctoral dissertation in Materials Science.

Robert Winkler receives the Prize for Excellence in Research from the Dean Prof. K. Durst

As a team member of the ERC-funded AEM Division, Robert contributed to establishing atomic-scale structure-property correlations in functional materials and devices.

Robert's work involved advanced techniques in aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) for atomic-resolution imaging and analysis. He also participated in developing state-of-the-art in situ/operando STEM methods for studies involving temperature and electrical biasing stimuli.

The award was presented during the Materials Science Graduation Ceremony on November 29, 2024. We congratulate Robert Winkler on this achievement and look forward to his future contributions to the field.
