Hard magnetic nanocomposites produced by severe plastic deformation

In our recent publication in Acta Materialia, we presented a new approach to produce textured hard magnetic nanocomposites consisting of SmCo5 and Cu by high pressure torsion. Thereby, the challenges and opportunities for tuning extrinsic magnetic properties by microstructural modification, which can be transferred to other promising hard magnetic material systems, in which a texture development through conventional process routes is still lacking, were highlighted.
