Novel preparation method of mesoporous High-Entropy Oxide thin film electrodes

The Surface Science group published a paper about the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity of High-Entropy Oxides (HEO) and draws a detailed picture of its electronic band structure.

In the work of Einert et al. mesoporous and compact HEO thin film electrodes were systematically compared with respect to their OER activty showing that an increase in surface-area result in enhanced OER performance due to more available catalytically active sites. As XPS and UPS revealed for the first time, the sol-gel derived HEOs possess p-type character.
