Highlighting our latest work on “Laser Additive Manufacturing of Oxide-Dispersion-Strengthened Steels: A Simulation-Based Comparison Between Powder Bed Fusion and Direct Energy Deposition”

We are thrilled to share that our work, “Laser Additive Manufacturing of Oxide-Dispersion-Strengthened Steels: A Simulation-Based Comparison Between Powder Bed Fusion and Direct Energy Deposition,” has been selected as the back cover of Advanced Engineering Materials (Volume 27, Issue 14).

The featured cover, designed by Yangyiwei Yang and Somnath Bharech, illustrates the migration and agglomeration of nanoparticles during the laser additive manufacturing process of oxide-dispersion-strengthened (ODS) steels. Using advanced numerical techniques—multiphysics phase-field simulations and nanoparticle tracing—this work contributes to the optimized design of ODS steels with improved mechanical properties, while reducing material waste and energy consumption.
