We are pleased to announce that Mr. Somnath Bharech, a PhD student in our research group, was awarded first place at the recent conference “New Frontiers in Materials Design for Laser Additive Manufacturing”, held in Hannover, Germany during 12-15 May 2025.

The award was presented in recognition of his poster titled “Comparing powder bed fusion and direct energy deposition for oxide-dispersion strengthened steels: A simulation study” which showcases the recent numerical investigations into nanoparticle reinforcement in ODS steels produced via laser additive manufacturing.
