Zukunftsforum Elektrokeramik

Exchange event on electroceramics on 27.02.2025 in the Lichtenberghaus

2024/11/21 by

The Collaborative Research Center Fermi Level Engineering Applied to Oxide Electroceramics (SFB 1548 – FLAIR) is organizing a future forum to exchange ideas on research into oxide electroceramics. The event is being organized in cooperation with the German Ceramic Society (DKG), the German Society for Materials Science (DGM), the Austrian Ceramic Society (AuCERS) and Materials Valley.

The Future Forum will bring together players from university and institutional research with representatives from industry in order to achieve a better mutual understanding and to dovetail research with current challenges and future needs.

The CRC FLAIR

The CRC FLAIR was established at the Technical University of Darmstadt in 2023 and has locations at the University of Stuttgart, RWTH Aachen University and Graz University of Technology. The long-term goal of the CRC is to predict the properties of electroceramics as a function of composition and manufacturing parameters – as is possible with semiconductors. This predictability is to be developed in the CRC through a combination of materials science, physics and chemistry, initially using examples of mixed conducting membranes, dielectrics and piezoelectrics as well as electrocatalysts and photocatalysts. At a later stage, the approach is supposed to be extended to materials for fuel cells, batteries, sensors, etc.
