Exciting insights into research, innovation and teaching on 25.05. at Lichtwiese
2025/05/15 by M. Schmitt, R. Bischler

The Technical University of Darmstadt is opening its doors to the public on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 11 am. Guests can expect a varied, family-friendly program with lectures, workshops, lab tours, hands-on stations and live experiments. At the heart of the event will be a large main stage and the adjacent research and innovation exhibition. Many other offers promise exciting insights into current scientific developments, teaching and innovation.
The Institute of Materials Science is participating in the event with several program items. In building L2|01, hands-on experiments on various areas of materials research await a curious audience under the motto “World of Materials – Experiencing Research, Understanding the Future”. In front of the building, guests of all ages can experiment with giant soap bubbles. A special lecture on next-generation batteries offers in-depth insights into the latest developments in this key technology. In a laboratory workshop on atomic force microscopy, those interested can immerse themselves in the nano world. There is also a special workshop for prospective students. Details of these offers can be found in the info box below.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Lichtwiese campus on May 25. Further information about the event can be found on the central event page:
