Darmstadt Materials Scientists at the Pint of Science Festival (13.-15.05.24)

2024/05/13 by

The Pint of Science Festival will take place from May 13-15. The event aims to bring science and the public closer together. To this end, researchers present their work to a mixed audience in the relaxed atmosphere of a pub. Three 15- to 20-minute presentations are scheduled for each evening and location.

This year's list of participants include three scientists from the TU Darmstadt Institute of Materials Science:

  • On May 13, Prof. Wolfgang Ensinger (head of the research group Material Analytics) will speak in the “Bruchbude” (Lauteschlägerstr. 3, formerly “Hobbit”) about the X-ray fluorescence analysis of paintings. The talk will be held in German.
  • On May 15, Pelin Tozman and Imants Dirba (both from the research group Functional Materials) will talk about their research works on magnetic materials for energy applications and magnetic nanoparticles for cancer therapy, respectively, in the “Goldene Krone” (Schustergasse 18). Both talks will be held in English.

The events start at 19:00.

Pint of Science takes place in Darmstadt and 21 other cities in Germany and in over 400 cities worldwide.
