FM finalist at the INTERMAG 2021 Magnetism as Art Showcase

Our Nanoparticle Feddy bear was among the four finalists at the INTERMAG 2021 Magnetism as Art Showcase! Thanks to all who voted!

This naturally-formed teddy bear consists of iron nanoparticles (hence the name 'Feddy') obtained by hydrogen reduction of Fe2O3. The average particle size is about 50 nm and they form large micrometer-range clusters. These nanoparticles possess high saturation magnetization and, surprisingly, a coercivity that exceeds the theoretical anisotropy field value.
