Z02
Near-ambient pressure photoelectron spectroscopy for Fermi level engineering

Overview

Project Z02 installs a near-ambient pressure photoelectron spectrometer. The system extends the analysis conditions of samples to elevated temperatures and pressures up to a few millibars, which are close to real sample process¬ing and operation conditions. In cooperation with other projects using electron spectroscopy and sample synthesis, Z02 provides service analysis of surface processes of ion exchange membranes and photo- and electrocatalytic materials, and assists in resolving Fermi energy limits in piezo¬electric and dielec¬tric materials. The method provides unique quantitative information on segregation and space-charge regions in dependence on doping, oxygen activity, and other chemical boundary conditions.
