Anke Weidenkaff becomes acatech member

Prof. Anke Weidenkaff, Head of the Division of Materials and Resources and of the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies IWKS, was elected as one of 39 new members of acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering.

Weidenkaff's election is a further recognition and honor of her excellent research on socially highly relevant issues. In January 2023, she has already been appointed a member of the Leopoldina, the German National Academy of Sciences. Since 2020, Weidenkaff is a member of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU).

acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering is tasked with providing independent, fact-based and public interest-oriented advice to policymakers and society on issues relating to the future of technology science and technology policy. It is funded by the federal and state governments and is under the patronage of the Federal President.
