We congratulate Dr. Chen Shen, our former team member who had graduated with “summa cum laude” in December 2022. He was selected out of many researchers in the early stages of their careers working in the area of computational materials science and engineering. The special issue of Computational Material Science published in September 2025 contains short review articles of all the finalists of this competition. The nomination as winner in the 5th Rising Stars in Computational Material Science competition is a great honour and recognises the work of Chen Shen as outstanding and significant to the research community in Computational Material Science. He received a certificate and a cash award by the publisher.
