Knowledge of the structure of a solid substance, in particular the spatial arrangement of the atoms inside it, is one of the necessary prerequisites for understanding its chemical and physical properties. The motivation for our research is therefore to find this connection between the atomic structure of a substance and its properties and to derive new knowledge for future material developments from this. With this goal in mind, we work on a variety of materials from different areas of application in the specialist field.
