Investigation of defect formation at InP surfaces and their influence on the surface reactivity with water chosen as 'Editor's Choice'

2022/10/17

Our recent publication about defect formation and modelling of electrochemical interfaces has been chosen as ACS Editor's Choice in addition to the publication in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces and is therefore freely available for a promotional period of six months.

In our recent publication (DOI:10.1021/acsami.2c13352) Moritz et al. investigated the defect formation on well-defined InP surfaces. Moreover, the electrochemical interface with water was modelled and the energetic consequences of water adsorption and defect formation has been studied in detail in order to get a fundamental insight of the atomistic processes at photoelectrochemical interfaces.

The work correlates spectroscopic photoemission investigation with atomistic modelling and was achieved by a strong cooperation of groups from Uni Paderborn (Wolf Gero Schmidt) and TU Ilmenau (Thomas Hannappel).
