Teaching

Lectures

The teaching program is covering design, synthesis, physics and technical application of materials for Organic Electronics.

Winter Term

“Organic Functional Materials: From LCD to Molecular Circuits” gives an introduction into design, synthesis and application of organic functional materials with focus on low molecular weight compounds. The main sections are about liquid crystals, organic electronics, and molecular electronics including self-assembled monolayers down to single-molecule electronics.

Summer Term

“Applied Fluoroorganic Chemistry: Synthesis, Functional Materials, Fluoropharmaceuticals” provides the chemical foundation for “Organic Functional Materials” but includes also other important applications of fluoroorganic chemistry, such as polymers, dyes and pharmaceuticals. Starting from the unique property profile of fluoroorganic compounds, the whole toolbox of synthetic methods and the mode of action of fluoropharmaceuticals is discussed.

Lab Exercise

We are offering lab exercises in the Organic Electronics group. Please contact Peer Kirsch if you are interested.

Bachelor, Master & PhD Theses

If you are interested in a thesis project in our group please contact anytime Peer Kirsch.
Our research topics are centered around the design, synthesis, characterization and application of functional self-assembled monolayers in electronic devices. If you bring your own ideas or proposals, this is also very welcome!
