New Article Published in Nature Reviews Materials on Wind Turbine Blade Recycling

We are excited to share the publication of our new article, “Wind turbine blade recycling for greener and sustainable wind energy” in Nature Reviews Materials. This article tackles a critical issue in the renewable energy transition—how to manage wind turbine blades at the end of their service life in an environmentally responsible way.
With the rapid global growth of wind power, addressing the challenge of recycling composite blades is more urgent than ever. Our work reviews the latest advances in recycling technologies, policy developments, and innovative approaches that support a circular economy within the wind energy sector.
By showcasing both recent progress and future opportunities, this article highlights emerging recycling technologies aimed at advancing global sustainability goals and emphasizes the importance of embedding circular design principles into renewable energy technologies from the outset. Through innovation and collaboration, a truly circular model for wind turbine blade management is within reach, ensuring a smooth transition from linear to circular waste management models.
