Rotary sponsorship award for ESM student Nicola Gutmann

2022/02/14 by

Nicola Gutmann studies Materials Science at TU Darmstadt and wrote her bachelor thesis at the ESM research group (Electronic Structure of Materials). She is currently studying abroad in Montreal (Canada), where she focuses on biomaterials – an area new to her and an important extension of her studies, Gutmann says. In Darmstadt, she actively engaged as a coach at Unisport and as a tutor at the Institute of Materials Science; in Montreal, she is now advising local students who are planning a stay abroad in Germany.

The Institute of Materials Science and the ESM research group congratulate Nicola Gutmann on her award and wish her a pleasant stay in Montreal!

This year's Rotary Award for a scholarship abroad has been awarded to two students of TU Darmstadt in equal parts: Nicola Gutmann and Milena Runge (Department of Biology) will each be granted 5000 euros.

The Rotary Award

Every two years since 1987, the three Rotary Clubs of Darmstadt, in cooperation with the Friends of TU Darmstadt, have sponsored an outstanding student in a master's program at TU Darmstadt with a prize of 10,000 euros in order to improve the study abroad experience. This prize is at free disposal for the award winner. The purpose is to enable the awardee to establish contacts and friendships while abroad, thus contributing to international understanding and fellowship.
