Today’s Functional Materials excursion led us to the Schirn Art Gallery in Frankfurt. The temporary location at the former Dondorf printing works in Bockenheim hosted the exhibition ‘The World Through AI’ from June 11 to September 20, 2026.

The exhibition explores the question of how artificial intelligence is changing our perception of the world. Interactive works and artistic perspectives offer different views on the opportunities, possibilities and social issues surrounding AI. It provides a fascinating insight into the interplay between art, technology and the digital present. It highlights just how closely technological developments are now intertwined with our everyday lives and our conception of reality. The exhibition encourages visitors to critically examine their own relationship with Artificial Intelligence.
