Prof. Riedel is teaching at bachelor and master level. Courses include Introduction to General Chemistry, Structural Materials, Materials Engineering, Materials Chemistry, Synthesis and Properties of Ceramics I + II.

Numerous Master and Bechelor students have been supervised in the past and are currently supervised.

He has hosted and presently hosts guest researchers and Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellows. Several of his former PhD students and postdocs have attained national and international Professor positions at TU Freiberg (Germany), TU Berlin (Germany), University of Texas at Austin (USA), Tianjin University (China), Nagoya Institute of Technology (Japan).
