Origin is an analysis and presentation program for data. In addition to displaying raw data in 2D and 3D graphics ready for publication, Origin masters many common analysis methods such as fits, Fourier transformations, etc. Created graphics can be exported in many file formats, such as EPS, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PDF and WMF.

More Information

MATLAB is a tool for processing, analyzing and visualizing data as well as for numerical calculation.

The TU Darmstadt currently has a campus-wide license (Campus-Wide-Suite, CWS) for MATLAB, Simulink and all accompanying toolboxes as well as a range of e-learning materials, which allow all employees to use these products free of charge for research, teaching and studying and students at TU Darmstadt are allowed on both university and private end devices.

The Department of Materials and Geosciences provides its students with software for the scientific analysis and visualization of analyzed data. For the following operating systems QtiPlot is available under the campus license:

Note: QtiPlot requires the prior installation of Python on both operating systems!

LabVIEW

LabVIEW offers a graphical development environment for measurement data processing and system control. LabVIEW can be used to program the block diagram of a system and virtual measuring devices for online operation as required.

Citation & Literature Management

The Citavi literature management program is available as a campus license at the Technical University of Darmstadt. With Citavi you manage your literature, research in specialist databases and library catalogs, work on the content of literature, collect citations, organize knowledge, design texts, plan tasks and automatically create bibliographies in different citation styles.

The campus license allows all students and employees of the TU free use of the program.

Video Conferences

Zoom is a very clearly arranged and easy-to-use tool for web conferences. The cloud service supports different usage scenarios – from virtual teamwork to online presentations and online lectures.

Office Software

TU Darmstadt joined the Microsoft Federal Agreement 3.0. This agreement includes the M365 Education A3 product package.

Students can use the package to its full extent.
